Greenock Cruise Port Celebrates Record-Breaking 2025 Season

Greenock Cruise Port, operated by Global Ports Holding, the world’s largest cruise port operator, has concluded one of its most successful cruise seasons to date, marking the first year under the management of GPH. The 2025 season delivered exceptional results, with 145,166 passengers across 82 ship calls, including six inaugural visits and partnerships with leading cruise brands such as Ambassador Cruise Line, Atlas Voyages, Ritz Carlton, SunStone, and Virgin Voyages.

This growth represents a significant increase in passenger numbers compared to previous years, generating substantial economic benefits for local businesses, tour operators, transportation providers, and cultural attractions. Operationally, the port achieved new milestones in turnaround efficiency, guest satisfaction, and safety standards, reinforcing its reputation as a premier cruise destination.

John Mawer, GPH UK Cruise Ports General Manager, commented: “2025 has been a landmark year for Greenock Cruise Port. Our first season has exceeded expectations, thanks to strong collaboration with cruise lines, local stakeholders, and the wider community. We are committed to building on this success by investing in infrastructure, enhancing the passenger experience, and creating even greater value for our partners and the region.”

Looking ahead, Greenock Cruise Port will embark on an exciting off-season upgrade project, including a redesigned terminal and marquee layout to support improved homeport services. These enhancements will strengthen wayfinding, connectivity, and community engagement, ensuring visitors enjoy the very best of Scotland’s west coast.

With 75 calls and an estimated 145,000 passengers already forecast for 2026, Greenock Cruise Port is poised for continued growth and innovation, delivering exceptional experiences for cruise lines and their guests.

Located on Scotland’s west coast along the River Clyde, Greenock Cruise Port serves as the gateway to Glasgow and the Scottish Highlands, offering easy access to Scotland’s cultural and natural treasures. Its strategic position on major maritime routes makes it a key stop for Northern European and British Isles itineraries, connecting the UK, Ireland, and Nordic countries.
