We are seeking a dedicated and highly experienced Senior Construction Engineer to join our team in San Juan. This role is critical to our operations and will focus on managing and overseeing large-scale construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and budgetary standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in civil engineering and construction management, with a proven history of successfully managing complex construction projects. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential for effective communication across diverse teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Contractor(s) during all phases of construction projects ensuring each meets rigorous safety, quality, and financial goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including contractors, designers, operations and governmental agencies, to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide clear project updates, reports, and progress presentations to stakeholders, concerning the construction to maintain transparency and alignment on all goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering [ABET accredited] or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or comparable certification is highly desirable.
• Additional certifications in project management, such as PMP, are a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English is required.

Experience:

• A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction engineering, with a focus on large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects. Experience in marine and port infrastructure projects is a strong asset.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex projects from start to finish, including coordination across various phases and stakeholders.

Technical Proficiency:

• Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, construction methodologies, and safety regulations.
• Strong command of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD tools.
• Expertise in overall construction management / supervision.

Project Management Skills:

• Proven ability to plan, organize, and allocate resources effectively, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Experience in identifying project risks, troubleshooting issues, and developing effective solutions during the execution of the project and close monitoring of the contractors acting as the Employer’s representative
• Demonstrated success in aligning the contractor(s) to deliverproject(s) on time and within budget.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with contractor(s), Authorities, Designersand regulatory agencies, and for presenting project updates to stakeholders.
